My plans to shoot a Tango documentary in Buenos Aires were hampered by a couple of things, first of all I didn't want to sacrifice my dance time in order to bring my camera and shoot other dancers, and I was also fearful that my camera would be stolen while I was dancing. Also some milonga promoters won't give you permission to shoot video. Since I only had a month left in Buenos Aires I decided to bring my camera to the milongas more often. I had already danced for a few hours at Los Consagrados, so by the time I arrived at La Nacional I was content to be an observer and shoot some video. Juan Lencina is a charismatic promoter and when I asked his permission to shoot some video he graciously agreed. I basically followed him around most of the night. I knew a lot of the dancers there and many of them wanted to be photographed. Juan Lencina makes everyone feel welcome and a great time was had by all. Here is a video of Juan Lencina having fun dancing Tango. |
This blog is dedicated to Argentine Tango lovers around the world. We will be providing useful information for visitors coming to Buenos Aires to make their Tango dancing dreams come true.
