Juan Lencina at La Nacional Milonga

My plans to shoot a Tango documentary in Buenos Aires were hampered by a couple of things, first of all I didn't want to sacrifice my dance time in order to bring my camera and shoot other dancers, and I was also fearful that my camera would be stolen while I was dancing. Also some milonga promoters won't give you permission to shoot video. Since I only had a month left in Buenos Aires I decided to bring my camera to the milongas more often. I had already danced for a few hours at Los Consagrados, so by the time I arrived at La Nacional I was content to be an observer and shoot some video.

Juan Lencina is a charismatic promoter and when I asked his permission to shoot some video he graciously agreed. I basically followed him around most of the night. I knew a lot of the dancers there and  many of them wanted to be photographed. Juan Lencina makes everyone feel welcome and a great time was had by all.

Here is a video of Juan Lencina having fun dancing Tango.
